Using up Leftover Cranberry Sauce

These bright little tarts will be a crowd pleaser! The buttery flakey crust with the creamy sweet cheese is the perfect little boat to hold the tart and fragrant cranberry sauce.

These can be served as a dessert after the heavy meal or as a little appetizer for your guests while they drink and socialize before dinner. Its a sweet and tart little treat, so simple to make, you really mustn’t pass up on the opportunity to try it!

We’re using our home-made recipe for Cranberry Sauce. You can get the sauce done days before Thanksgiving/Christmas and store it in a couple of mason jars. Save your self some time and effort on the big day.

Cranberry Tarts with Cream Cheese


Equipment

  • Mini Cupcake Pan
  • Rolling Pin or Clean Wine Bottle
  • Pizza Cutter

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Cream Cheese
  • 1 Cup Cranberry Sauce
  • Crescent Roll Dough
  • 1 tspn Flour
  • Non-Stick Cooking Spray

Directions

Total Time: 20 Minutes

Servings: 24.

  1. Preheat oven to 350º F.
  2. Unroll crescent roll pastry on a lightly floured surface. Use a rolling pin to flatten the seams together.
  3. Cut the dough into 24 equal size squares.
  4. Spray mini cupcake pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  5. Place one square of pastry dough in each cup, scoop in about 1/2 tspn cream cheese and cranberry sauce into each cup.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until crust is golden brown.

Notes, Tips and Ideas!

  • Don’t have a rolling pin? No Worries! Use a clean wine bottle!

  • Full-Fat cream cheese! If you want that truly creamy center, go for full fat cheese.
