We are Saving Flavors

One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating.

We Have Two Core Missions…

To Share Tasty Dishes That Save Dough

In January 2018 a husband and wife from Miami moved to Grand Cayman. The boy to attend medical school, and the girl to support him. What a shock it was to adjust to the prices, but adjust we did. With a little bit of planning and some creativity, delicious food is attainable on a small budget.

Saving Flavors was started on this simple basis that you can save money just by cooking at home. I want to share with you my homemade recipes, the skills I’ve learned, and the tools I use to make food more affordable.

To Save Flavorful Dishes Rooted in Our Heritage.

I’ve always had a personal side project… To learn the cooking of grandmas from all over. There are so many dishes out there that end up in a void because those precious recipes are not passed down. It breaks my heart.  This fact is true from my very own family.

My grandmother from my mom’s side passed away when I was only a few years old. My mom tells me that she made some delicious dishes: Tamales, Dulce de Leche, Baliadas. Oh! The lost flavors.

My goal is to collect the stories that these dishes have to offer. The memories associated with them, and most importantly, the recipe that brings us all to the table.
